The black ink in office-jet 7000 E809 is not printing.



Check the cartridge compatibility.
Replace incompatible cartridges.

Troubleshooting Steps...
If these steps resolved the issue, you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
If the issue persists, continue to the next solution.

Step 1:
INSTRUCTION 1: Do not use wrinkled paper
Use the correct paper type for your project.
For everyday text documents, plain paper with ColorLok technology works well. Paper with ColorLok technology is industry-standard paper that works well with HP ink.

Step 2:

Click the Printing Shortcuts tab.





Windows Vista or Windows 7:
Click the Windows icon (), click All Programs, click HP, and then click HP Solution Center.
HP Solution Center opens in a new window.
Click Settings ().
In the Print Settings area, click Printer Toolbox. The printer Toolbox opens. 
 Click the Estimated Ink Levels tab. The estimated ink levels display in a graphic on the computer.





Step 3:

If the ink-level graphic shows low or empty cartridges, and you are dissatisfied with the quality of your printouts, replace the cartridges now. Click here to go to instructions in this document for installing a replacement cartridge.
If the ink-level graphic shows full cartridges, you do not need to replace the cartridges yet. Continue to the next solution.

Windows XP:
Click Start, click All Programs, click HP, and then click HP Solution Center.

Windows Vista or Windows 7:
Click the Windows icon (), click All Programs, click HP, and then click HP Solution Center.
Click Settings ().
In the Print Settings area, click Printer Toolbox. The printer Toolbox opens.
On the Device Services tab, click Clean the Printheads ().
Click Clean to begin the process.

Connectivity:

C4580 - Problems with Wireless Installation/Setup


I am having problems installing/setting up my C4580 for wireless printing (i.e. through a network option) USB works fine.

It always fails at the same place:
- I select 'through a network'
- I select my SSID (Network Name) from the list
- I enter my WPA key
- The process runs through Network Diagnostics
- then gives me the following error:

"Your PC can not communicate with your printer at address 192.168.0.5. Check all cable connections. Check that the printer, PC and router are powered on and connected to the network

Unable to communicate with your printer at this time. This may be caused by a Firewall. If you are using firewall software, verify UDP port 427 is unblocked from your printer at 192.168.0.5 to your pc."

I have:

- turned off windows firewall and anti-virus
- ran the install (including advanced and only selecting the required drivers - to save time on multiple attempts)
- before each attempt, fully uninstalled everything (using the L1, L2, L3 and L4 .bat files as recommended by HP)

I have a Netgear DG834, which has a firewall. I have not tried adjusting any settings here, apart from reserving the IP Address 192.168.0.5 for the printer and adding the C4580 MAC Address to the Access Control List.

Any help/advice much appreciated. I have spent about 10 hours on this + 1.5 hours to HP Telephone Support + 1 hour to HP Email Support.

Setup was unable to detect Hp printer


I've recently set up a new computer and network.  The host computer is running Vista.  I've connected a Deskjet 6940 via ethernet cable into the Linksys router, and can print from the host computer.

I have a laptop that's running XP Pro, and which has connectivity with the network.  I downloaded the driver from HP onto the Laptop to try to connect with the 6940, but during the install process, I got the message "Printer Not Found -- Setup was unable to detect any printers on the network."

Firewalls on both computers are disabled.
When I type the IP address into the address bar of either the host computer or the laptop, I get the printer's page, including its SSID.
I tried typing the IP address into the appropriate field during the HP setup routine on the laptop, however, and still got the "Printer not Found."
Since the Deskjet 6940 is on the network, let's try manually adding the printer. Here's the sequence for XP:

  1. Click "Start" button --> Printers and Faxes.
  2. Under Printer Tasks, click "Add Printer".
  3. Click "Next" button on the Add Printer Wizard window.
  4. Select "Local printer attached to this computer". Deselect "Automatically detect and install My Plug and play printer". Click "Next".
  5. Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next" button.
  6. In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to same network that your computer is connected to. Click "Next" button.
  7. Under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the printer's hostname. You can also use the printer's IP address if it's static. Click "Next" then click "Finish".
  8. Now, select HP from the list of manufacturers, select your printer from the list of Printer models and click 'Next' button.
  9. If you can't find your printer, you'll need to find the install CD and use the "Have Disk" option to select one of the hp*.ini files. Alternatively, you can select another HP printer model from the same type.
  10. Add the print spooler name and click "Next".
  11. Click "Next"
  12. Click "Next" and then "Finish"

How to Troubleshoot an HP Printer's Problem Printing


Using the setup disc that comes with your HP printer helps ensure the correct drivers and ports are installed. However, even after completing the installing, sometimes your printer fails to operate correctly. Troubleshooting an HP printer printing problem begins with checking the printer for errors and working your way through common causes. The HP website provides you with contact information if you are unable to solve your printing problem after troubleshooting your HP printer.


Instructions


Review the screen on the HP printer and your computer screen. If an error code is provided, use your book to determine the meaning of the code.

Check the printer and make sure the power is on. If the printer is switched on, a light appears on the button. Make sure the printer is plugged into an outlet and connected to your computer with a USB cable if you do not use a network printer.

Click on the "My Computer" icon on your computer screen. Locate the "Change a setting" title under "System Task". Click on it then locate the "Printers and Faxes" icon in the new window. Click on the icon and make sure the HP printer has a check beside it as your default printer.

Turn the printer off and then switch it back on to reset internal settings that may have turned off. Allow the printer to remain off for at least 60 seconds.

Follow the manufacturer's instructions and perform a self-test on the HP printer. If it fails, the printer is not working properly and needs repair. Otherwise, print a test page by pressing the "Print Screen" button at the top right of your keyboard. If no page prints, the printer is not communicating with your computer properly.

Replace the USB cables running from the printer to your computer to ensure it is working. Check the communication port by clicking on "Printers and Faxes" and then left clicking with your mouse pointer over the HP printer icon. Click on "properties" and then click the tab for "Ports." Make sure the HP port is checked.

How to Troubleshoot HP Deskjet 895 Printer Problems


Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, the Hewlett-Packard Company is the largest IT company in the world. HP debuted the DeskJet, the first mass-market inkjet printer, in 1988 and continues to sell it in 2010. Instructions

Check that all printer cables are plugged in and connected securely. Open the HP DeskJet Toolbox program on your computer and click the "Printer Services" tab. Click the "Test the printer communications" button to make sure the computer and printer are properly communicating.

Make sure the HP DeskJet 895 is set as your default printer. Open the HP DeskJet Toolbox and choose the "Troubleshooting" tab. Click "A blank page came out," then "Wrong printer selected." Choose the HP 895 as your default printer.

HP inkjet cartridges need to be cleaned regularly. Open the HP DeskJet Toolbox. Choose the "Printer Services" tab then click "Clean print cartridges."

If the printing isn't aligning correctly on the page, realign the print heads. Open the HP DeskJet Toolbox and select the "Printer Services" tab. click on "Align the print cartridges."

If paper is jammed in the printer and you can't reach it, remove the rear access door. Rotate the knob on the rear of the printer counter clockwise for 1/4 turn. Remove the door. Remove the jammed paper. Replace the door. Hit "Resume" on the printer's front control panel.

If paper is sticking together as it comes out of the printer, remove the blank paper from the paper tray. Fan the stack to loosen the sheets and reload.

How to Troubleshoot HP Printer Slipping Problems


HP inkjet and laser printers may occasionally suffer from a problem known as "slipping" or "ghosting," which causes images to be printed either off center or multiple times on the same page, and can also cause a grinding noise. Although the problem may be caused by a mechanical defect that must be repaired, there are several instances in which you can troubleshoot the issue and resolve it at home.


Instructions


Turn on your computer and access the HP printing software that you installed when you first set up the printer. Click on the "Tools" menu and then choose the "Options" or "Settings" tab. Click on the option to run a self-cleaning. Wait for the self-cleaning process to completely finish and then attempt to print you original document again and see if you are still experience a slipping problem.

Check the manual that came with your HP printer to see if it has a recalibration process. Follow the steps described in the manual or instead try the standard re-calibration process if you don't have your manual. Start the standard re-calibration by pressing and holding the "Cancel," "OK," "Black" and "Color" buttons on the top of the printer for two seconds and then pressing the power button. Press the power button to turn it back on, then turn it off and then back on again. Wait for the printer to go through its calibration process and then attempt to print again.


Open the top of the HP printer and remove and re-insert the ink cartridges if it is an inkjet printer, or the laser toner and fuser box if it is a laser printer. Make sure they are properly installed and are not wiggling in their carriages. Close the top and attempt to print again.

Replace the ink cartridges or laser toner and fuser box entirely in case they are defective, and attempt to print again.

Go to the official HP support website and type in the model of printer you have (see Resources below). Click on the "downloads" link and then click on "Drivers." Download and install the latest version of the driver for your printer and then attempt to print again.
